BURNT JACKET
Wilderness Realty is the exclusive agent for the Burnt Jacket properties. This development is located in the town of Beaver Cove, Maine, just six miles north of Greenville. The site is located on a rather large peninsula that juts out into Moosehead Lake. Its prominent feature is Burnt Jacket Mountain, hence its namesake.
A lakefront community consisting of shorefront and woodland lots is planned. Parcels will be grouped in “pods” separated by generous areas of open space. Several community centers will be sprinkled about. A rather large common area/water access lot is planned in a protected cove at the far eastern portion of the property. These common areas will be linked with a network of trails.
Moosehead Lake is considered the “Jewel of Maine”. It is the largest lake in the State. Nearly half of the shorefront is protected from development. The lake and its attenuate watershed is classified by State agencies as outstanding in many categories including scenic, fisheries, wildlife, botanical, shore characteristics and cultural.
The Town of Beaver Cove is a residential community consisting of modest to upscale primary and recreational homes. The year-round population is around 100 folks; the summer population increases an additional 2-3 times that of the locals. Nearby Greenville is the service center for the area with shops, restaurants, stores, golf course, municipal airport, 3 sea plane bases, hospital, emergency response and police.
